Additional Setup
- Application Pool
We recommend creating a new "Application Pool" to isolate the web site application domain. In that way, errors caused within a web site will not affect other web sites. For more details, see “Create an Application Pool (IIS 7.0)” (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731784(v=ws.10).aspx)
- ASP.NET State Server
By default, Point Of Sale is configured to store session information on a state server. To use StateServer mode, ASP.NET state service must be running on the server.
To start the ASP.NET State Service, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
In the right pane of the Services window, right-click the ASP.NET State Service, and then click Start.
- Optimizing Session State Provider
Within the <appSettings> the keys to adjust the session state provider for better asynchronous parallel JavaScript requests processing are available:
<add key=" SESSIONSTATE_LOCKED_ITEM_POLLING_INTERVAL " value="50"/>
<add key=" SESSIONSTATE_LOCKED_ITEM_POLLING_DELTA " value="20"/>
SESSIONSTATE_LOCKED_ITEM_POLLING_INTERVAL
This is the interval at which session state provider polling is performed with a default value of 500ms.
SESSIONSTATE_LOCKED_ITEM_POLLING_DELTA
This is the minimum time between session state provider polling checks with a default value of 250ms.
