System messages provide a central repository where all related messages can be displayed. Messages can be things like warnings or errors. Typically you will not add or maintain messages unless directed to do so in special instructions from SmarterCommerce.

Message Ids are hard coded values and should not be deleted.  Attempting to delete an existing message ID will cause the Management Console to operate improperly.
