You can delete an announcement at any time, but the status of the announcement will determine how the record is handled.

If the announcement is in ‘draft’ or ‘published’ status, all web user history, related stores information, assignments, and language overrides for the announcement will be removed. It will also delete the announcement from the web account's view.

If the announcement status is ‘draft (previously published),’ you may choose to discard the draft or delete it. The Discard Draft option only deletes the announcement in draft status. The Delete option will remove both the draft and published records for the announcement including all web user history, related stores information, assignments and language overrides. It will also delete the announcement from the web account's view.
