Basic Configuration


Basic configuration options determine which Store and Register your user will utilize.
Name Explanation
Store A particular business within the organization with a common set of business rules (usually a store).  Refer to Management Console manual for further details.
Register The workstation where POS transactions occur.  Registers are assigned to a specific store. A store can have more than one register.  Multiple users can access the same register depending on setup configuration of the register in Management Console.
Email Notifications Settings
Pending Documents > Settings

If you do not want to use this feature then set all the fields to blank.  Otherwise enter the following:

From - The email address used to send the email.  If the user replies it will go to this address.

To - The email address of the person(s) to receive the notification.

Subject - The topic/subject of the email

Test Email
Email > Settings
When test mode is selected you can dictate the email address to which all system emails will be sent.  However, once the system is set to live mode the email will be selected based on the program.
Save Email Log
Email > Settings
When enabled all emails for the templates selected will be logged. When enabled you can decide how long the emails should be kept. A scheduler job will run to clean up the email log. By default the logging level is set to Debug and captures minimal data about the email sent.  However, in Trace mode the log will contain a full XML document. When set to no, the Email Log menu option will not be displayed in the menu.displayed in the menu.

 

Maximum Days Email Headers Are Stored
Email > Settings

Email headers older than this number of days will be removed by the scheduler job.  Header information includes:

Document ID

Email Type

Sent Date

Resent Date

Recipient

Maximum Days Email Details Are Stored
Email > Settings
Email details older than this number of days will be removed by the scheduler job.
Use JDE authentication on clients
Retail Point of Sale > Settings

Determines if JDE user ID identical to a POS user ID must exist to login into POS using JDE credentials.  Options are:

No - User authentication is determined in Management Console

Yes - JDE user must exist that matches POS User.  Then at login JDE credentials are verified.

 

Mode
Email > Settings

The Email Component engine can deliver emails in two basic modes:

Test Overrides email associated to user and sends all emails to one specific email address noted in Test mail field.  Test mode should be in use while in a non-production environment

Live Sends emails to user associated with transaction.  Live mode should be in use for production environment
