PayPal as Currency
PayPal® as a Currency is a service that enables individuals and companies to pay, send money, and accept payments without revealing financial details to each other.
It’s secure and protected
PayPal® uses the latest in data encryption and anti-fraud technology to keep information secure, reducing the risk of online fraud.
It provides flexible payments
Customers can pay by simply choosing PayPal® at checkout, logging into their PayPal® account, and confirming the payment. PayPal® completes the process for you, without sharing financial details.
It's quick and easy
Customers will simply choose PayPal® as the payment option on your website, and quickly log into their PayPal® account and select payment method to complete their purchase.
It’s integrated with SmarterCommerce Ecommerce
PayPal® Express Checkout payments is available for SmarterCommerce Ecommerce orders for both anonymous guest shoppers and registered logged in users.
Registered (logged in) User
When a customer logs into your ecommerce website using their username and password this is called an authenticated user. Depending on the setup configured within the SmarterCommerce Management Console authenticated users can have two PayPal® payment options available to quickly and easily checkout. Users can choose to directly checkout from the shopping cart using the Express Checkout option or select PayPal® as the payment option on the order review web page. Both options will direct the web user to a PayPal® login and allow them to choose their funding option. Once the funding option is selected and approved by the user they will be returned to your ecommerce website.
Anonymous Guest User
Users that enter and shop on your website without logging in with a username and password are called anonymous users. Depending on your SmarterCommerce Management Console configuration anonymous users will have the option to pay using PayPal® as a payment method on the order review web page.
You may also be using PayPal® as a credit card processor. We understand this may cause some confusion, but try to remember that when we refer to PayPal® payments we are strictly talking about PayPal® as a Currency payment option and not as a credit card processor!
