Changes in Product Search Results Widget


Designer:

  • The user has the flexibility to configure content tabs and display the content that they choose. Every tab will retrieve the content from a Sitefinity backend search index which content was uploaded to an App Search engine. Examples:
  • Example 1: The user can configure one single tab to retrieve content from a backend search index which displays multiple content types (Images, Videos, Documents, etc.)
  • Example 2: The user can configure multiple tabs with backend search indexes that only display one content type: Pages tab, News tab, Images tab, Videos tab etc.
  • The designer 

 

 

  • The first tab will always display the products search results. The user can configure maximum five tabs.
  • The tabs name will be configured as resources with the following names: Tab 1, Tab 2, etc.… If the user wants to change the tabs names, then modify the following resources:
  • ProductSearchResults_ProductsTab1_Label
  • ProductSearchResults_ContentTab2_Label
  • ProductSearchResults_ContentTab3_Label
  • ProductSearchResults_ContentTab4_Label
  • ProductSearchResults_ContentTab5_Label
  • ProductSearchResults_ContentTab6_Label
  • Widget View:
    • Product Search Results widget will display product search results by default every time a user searches a term in the Product Search Box.
    • If the user properly configured the App Search default provider, the backend search indexes, the App Search credentials and the Product Search Results widget designer, then additional tabs will be displayed next to the Products tabs and the user can view content search results by clicking each one of those tabs.

  • If a tab displays content search results from multiple different content types, then a filter sidebar is displayed so user can filter results by content type

  • The labels for this sidebar filter are configured as resources, so if user wants to change the labels, then modify the following resources:
    • ProductSearchResults_Blog_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_BlogPost_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_ContentBlock_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_Document_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_Event_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_ForumPost_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_ForumThread_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_Image_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_ListItem_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_News_Label
    • ProductSearchResults_Page_Label
