Configured Items are customizable products, defined in your ERP, that have different components that the customer can tailor to their needs. For example, a customer shopping on an electronics site might be able to customize the color, memory type, memory capacity, processor type, and hard drive capacity of the laptop she is purchasing. The customizable elements (also called “components” or “component headers”) and the options within each element (also called “component values”) are defined in your ERP. Each component header can have multiple component values.

In SmarterCommerce, you can associate images with a configured item’s components or component values, and choose how the images are displayed on your website. This is defined in the “Configured Product Template” in SmarterCommerce.
