Security Settings


This option allows you to setup system-wide security policies as defined below.

POS
Authentication mode Determines if authentication is based on user information or windows domain information.
Password History Policy

Designates the number of unique passwords required for a user before a password can be re-used. 

Enter 0 <zero> or blank to disable this policy.

Password Expiration Interval

Designates the maximum number of days a password is valid.  An expired password must be changed by the user or via Management Console. 

Enter 0 <zero> or blank to disable this policy.

Minimum Password Length

Designates the minimum number of characters required to define a valid password. 

Enter 0 <zero> or blank to disable this policy.

Password Complexity Designates whether the password string must meet a specific format requirement. If format string is present then complexity is enabled.  If the string is empty then complexity is off.
Lockout Duration

Designates the period of time an account is locked out upon invalid login attempts.  The user must wait for n minutes before trying again. 

Enter 0 <zero> or blank to disable this policy.

Lockout Threshold

Designates the maximum number of invalid login attempts allowed before locking out user account. 

Enter 0 <zero> or blank to disable this policy.

Reset Counter

Designates the interval of time (n minutes) to measure invalid login attempts before login attempts counter is reset. 

Enter 0 <zero> or blank to disable this policy.
