Category Node Products

Once a category node has been created you must now relate products to that node for display on the website.  There are two methods you can use to relate products to a category node. To begin go to the catalog nodes and then click on the specific node.  Now, choose the method you wish to use.

Relate Products from Module - using the method you will search for the products from within the products module.  Please note that the products must exist in the products module before you will be able to search and relate them to the node.

Relate Products from Query - using the method you will use a pre-defined query that relates the products to the category node.

Once a Product has been associated with a Category Node, there are a few options you can configure:

Sequence

You can set the order that your products will appear on the website using the “Sequence” field. The Sequence number dictates the order your products appear in the Product Listing when the user has “Recommended” sorting set.

Products with a lower sequence number will appear first (e.g., 1), products with a higher sequence number will appear later in the order (e.g., 23).

Product Assembly ID

If you have enabled Product Assembly Reference IDs for this Catalog, you will use the fields under the “ASSEMBLY REFERENCE ID” column to assign a reference number or letter to each product. Note this optional.

This functionality is typically used when selling parts online that associate to a parts diagram. The “Assembly Reference ID” can help a user identify which product ties to the numbered item in the diagram.
